Why Should I Meditate Everyday?
That is a good question, but to meditate every day. Are you serious?
Meditation is a mental exercise. Rather like physical exercise is for body, meditation is for the mind. Would we go on holiday and leave the house unlocked and the windows open, free to let anyone come in and help themselves to our belongings? Definitely not in today’s world in certain countries. Would we leave our car unlocked on a busy street, with valuable possessions just sitting on the back seat, that are easy to see and easy to take? Of course not.
Meditate Everyday To Improve Your Focus
So why do we do this with our mind? These are such important questions that I never asked myself until I found meditation in the way that I practise it at the moment. We all meditate naturally in many different aspects of our life, but do we really comprehend the real meaning of the word, which I address in the course I am running at the moment.
Meditation is a word that was used, but not really adequate to explain, what the Eastern practices that were discovered by the West around 200 years ago, or maybe less. The word has been through much pushing and pulling, like many words in the English dictionary, and still is baffling to many people.
To Meditate Everyday Gives You A More Holistic Approach To Life
Yes! To meditate every gives you a more holistic approach to our species and who and what we actually are, which does not suit the agenda of the polarising of our society in todays meme we live in today. Meditation is the discovery of the essences that actually bind us together with common experiences.
How Do We Guard The Mind?
So how do we put a guard or a sentinel on our mind to stop the intruders? First it is for you to realise what is real and what is not. Fear and anxiety seems to be 24 / 7 for so many people in today’s society, but is it real and even necessary. Anxiety is fear of the present moment, and if you are in a safe place and are feeling anxious or fearful, it means that your mind is not in the present moment, but either in the past or future.
The Mind Is An Amazing Time Traveller
The mind is an amazing time traveller, much like the professor, Emmett Brown, in the back to the future movies, but the mind yearns to be with the body. Unfortunately, the physical body is firmly stuck in the moment. The mind and the body yearn to be together, and this separation can lead to stress, anxiety and even depression.
Putting that sentinel or guard on the mind, to stop it from wandering, or time travelling, when we do not want it to, is a big step in alleviating the symptoms of stress and anxiety. This brings that inner yearning for the mind and body to be together, into a place of balance, and therefore you into a state of wholeness and completeness.
To Meditate Everyday Makes This Easier
Sounds really simple, but this seems very difficult to achieve in today’s world. We seem to be bombarded 24 / 7 with bad news coming from the main stream media and TV. How much of that is real and how much of that is spurting out the narrative of an agenda. This is very difficult to fathom out? What I have learnt over the last few months is turning off the radio. Stop listening to or watching the news. Ignoring any pieces of information that does not serve my higher purpose has completely changed me. And I feel like I have reset myself into a better version of myself. I am now seeing the direction I want to take my life.
So, for these reasons I feel we should be meditating every day. We should be focusing on ourselves and getting that mind body connection back. Doing this, really can help you the best version of ourselves. We can live the empowered life we all should be living and deserve. What do you think?
