Can I Trust You?

In this blog, I want to talk about trust. Its was my birthday week at the end of August and to celebrate, we went to Eagle Heights to support the wildlife sanctuary in Kent. I was treated to a Meerkat experience where we went into the enclosure of the Meerkats. I don’t like anything to be caged, but these are rescued animals from owners who didn’t care for them.

It was amazing. And I used the James French trust technique to see if I could build trust very quickly with these beautiful little creatures. And I did. One of them climbed up my legs and lay in my hands with his head hanging over the edge of my hand. He was completely relaxed with me. And then later on, he ended up sitting on my shoulder. It was amazing.

James French And Mindfulness

The James French trust technique is a mindfulness technique to bring you out of the thinking brain. Thoughts are energy, like everything else, and animals can sense our thoughts and are suspicious of them. When we learn to come out of the neo cortex and slow down and quieten, or even stop our thoughts, amazing things happen.

If you use this technique anywhere where there are wild animals, or even domesticated animals, amazing things can happen. Come into the moment and see how magic happens. People used to say that I was particularly good with animals. I believe we all are if we were to allow ourselves to come into the moment and really be there with the animal in front of us.

My Ki Gong practise has helped me practise his technique once and get it straight away. Because of this, there is no frustration involved in the process. Mindfulness actually comes from the Vedas and is originally known as Sakshi Bav. This means witness mentality. We let our minds run out of control in this crazy way we live, and it was truly beautiful to be able to be so close to an animal with complete trust.

We can change our world around us by connecting to who we really are. And yes, we are amazing beings and we need to embrace that. Additionally, So many people are walking around thinking we are just a five sense biological entity. Basically, nothing could be further from the truth.
