Breaking Bad Habits
Why can it be so hard when it comes down to breaking bad habits? When we actually stop, check on ourselves, and journal our daily life, we then only really start to see what our habits are. And then we start to see what habits we have fallen into, and how bad they are for us. I hold this vision in such a high position, it is actually the beginning of my coaching course called the Dream Method. And people are actually surprised when they start to pay attention to their daily life.
One of my biggest challenges was anger. I suppose it still is today, as I feel if you don’t feel angry about how this present society has been formulated, then you are not really paying attention. The anger energy usually comes with an excessive amount of drinking to appease the liver. I was a professional musician for many years, and this came hand in hand with the lifestyle back in the day. I am glad to report that most young musicians are free from this conditioning now, and are sober.
Bad Habits Kick In With Set Backs
My habit kicked in whenever I had a setback, I would go and drink it away. This was not helping and was rather like putting a sticking plaster over an open heart surgery. It would eventually lead to my demise. And it took quite a while for me to work this one out. I grew up to John Wayne films, where he was slugging back the whiskeys, every moment, during the films. Drinking was glamorised, and I fell for it in a big way.
There are always new people starting the Dream Method, and I love to see them slowly work out where their bad habits are, and then we discuss how are we going to sort them out. This process works. And usually they come from a place where there has been hurt and trauma. These past wounds get stuck in the body, and repeat and repeat until they are finally healed.
You Can Get Lost When It Comes Down To Breaking Bad Habits
Sometimes you can get so lost in these reactions in your body, you begin to believe this is you. You believe that your life will never change, and that this is it. This is for life. How is that for setting a bad intention for yourself. Believing that a temporary state is going to be permanent is ingraining that bad habit more deeply into your subconscious. We are all guilty of doing this. And the more we ignore it, the harder it is to heal.
Our society conditions us to put a veneer over these bad experiences and leave them be. This is not good.
We have been lied to from the day of our birth. We have been deceived and manipulated to believe we are just our physical body. And that is it, in the western world particularly, by the slow destruction of religions. And there is much to be learnt about yourself by looking deeper inside. Journey Inwards – Succeed Outwards.
But we have all these amazing gifts that are available to us, if we could only rid ourselves of these bad habits and reactions we tend to go to as a default reaction to life.
Alchemy And Unlocking Your Treasures
It is the alchemy our ancestors talked about, and that is unlocking the treasures inside of you. This helps you understand more profoundly the experience inside of you, be it good or bad. This is one of the reasons why these teachings were kept behind closed doors in the mystery schools. Our ancestors saw humanity was not ready for such responsibility of the powers we have within. That is changing now, and more people are ready to take on this responsibility.
Each one of our treasures are unique to us. We all have an amazing avatar, which is our body, and this is unique to you as an individual. The same can be said of your energy body. Even our life force or soul. Not one thing has had the experiences you have had. You are unique, special and precious. You need to learn to express this with humility.
And if you can work out why you have had these experiences, and get to the point where you turn those negative experiences to positive ones, you are well on the way to becoming whole and complete as a being. That is true alchemy happening inside of you.
Helping People Everyday To Break Bad Habits
This is why I truly love what I do, because I get to speak with people every day who are going through this process. Some really take to it like a duck to water. Others drag their feet, and sometimes lose track and need to work harder to get back their focus. We are all different and there is no one size fits all.
The point of me saying all of this is that we can break our bad habits. We can change. We should never make a permanent decision on a temporary problem. And we should never accept that this is it, no matter where we are on our journey.
It is not easy, but it is worth the effort. Your beautiful shining heart is waiting there for you to connect with, and when you do, you realise that right at the very core of us, is unconditional love. Now that is a journey worth embarking on to find that treasure inside of you.
